Fact-Checking Fauci
Authored by Phillip Magness via The American Institute for Economic Research,
In recent congressional testimony Dr. Anthony Fauci, the primary architect of the Trump administration’s COVID response, painted a bleak picture about the United States’s ability to contain the pandemic. According to Fauci’s narrative, the United States is experiencing a resurgence in regional COVID outbreaks because it failed to sufficiently lock down back in March, and
failed to comply with the existing lockdown orders. Fauci specifically contrasted this situation to several European states that imposed lockdowns around the same time, claiming the latter as a successful model for COVID containment.

Black Lives Matter members in Chicago held a rally on Monday to support the more than 100 arrested last night following widespread looting and rioting that caused at least $60 million in property damage and saw 13 police
officers injured, according to a report. The rally was organized by Black Lives Matter Chicago and was held at a police station in the South Loop where organizers say individuals are currently being held in custody. At least one organizer called the looting tantamount to "reparations." “I don’t care if someone decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy’s or a Nike store, because that
makes sure that person eats,” said Ariel Atkins, a BLM organizer, according to NBC Chicago. “That makes sure that person has clothes.”

President Trump on Tuesday explained his “reluctance to embrace” the U.S. intelligence community upon taking office, blaming former President Obama officials and calling them “Dirty Cops” and “sleazebags.”

“John Bolton, one of the dumbest people I’ve met in government and sadly, I’ve met plenty...,” Trump tweeted. “While of course that is not true, if the first people you met from so called American Intelligence were Dirty Cops who have now proven to be
sleazebags at the highest level like James Comey, proven liar James Clapper, & perhaps the lowest of them all, Wacko John Brennan who headed the CIA, you could perhaps understand my reluctance to embrace!” Trump tweeted.
